Tag Games Announce New CEO

Today, we announced that after almost 12 years as co-founder and CEO, Paul Farley is stepping down from his role here at Tag Games and moving over to become CEO at live-ops platform ChilliConnect. Paul will be succeeded in April by current Director of Development, Marc Williamson, but will remain involved with Tag Games in the capacity of Chairman.

Marc has been a director and member of the board at Tag Games for the past four years. He joined the company back in 2010, and since then has played a pivotal role in all of Tag’s products from pitch to launch, leading development teams, and managing client relationships.

Tag Games have been making mobile games since 2006, building an admirable reputation in work for hire with clients such as Rovio, Ubisoft, and Activision. These changes will ensure that the company continues to grow and strengthen existing operations under familiar leadership, while ChilliConnect can capitalise on growth opportunities in live games.

Reflecting on the forthcoming change Paul Farley said, “Growing Tag from three people to become the awesome and respected development studio it is today has been an equally challenging and rewarding experience. With a wealth of talent and experience at Tag, I’m in an enviable position of being able to pass the day to day management of the studio to Marc and a very capable team around him. My focus now moves to a very exciting opportunity with ChilliConnect as we aim to become the leading platform for liveops and connected gameplay.”

ChilliConnect was spun out of Tag Games in 2017. The company now has the ambitious goal of democratising live-ops and connected gaming via a single SDK/dashboard that brings best in class capabilities to publishers and developers.

“I’m proud and privileged to be taking the helm at Tag Games”, Marc Williamson said, “Whilst it is business as usual, I will be looking to further strengthen the team and develop our culture of innovation and excellence. The development teams at Tag are incredibly talented and I’m looking forward to helping provide them with many new opportunities to showcase their skills whilst growing the business during this new phase.”
